Shallot Flakes add a great fresh shallot taste to your food. The large flakes have a subtle pink-yellow color, which comes naturally from the dried interior of the shallot. It has a sweet but strong flavor, much like fresh shallots. It can be used to replace the addition of fresh shallots in your cooking; the large flakes will rehydrate, adding the look and feel of freshly diced shallots.
We use only fresh organic USA-grown shallots, and use a slow low-heat dehydration process to preserve the natural shallot flavor. We grind each batch just before bottling for maximum flavor.
Shallot flakes can be used anywhere you would normally use shallots to season your foods, for example: rice, meat rubs, mashed potatoes, seafood butter sauce, etc.
